Yes ! Remember to protect your hands when handling household products, and to pay attention to certain small, harmless everyday actions, such as:
Open a can of soda, press the elevator button (Or the doorbell, or the toilet flush...), bite your nail, tap your nails on a rigid surface...
Of course ! You can get fake nails done on bitten nails.
Your prosthetist must still check the condition of your nails to determine if an application will not be too bothersome for you.
Contact your PO and don't be embarrassed to ask for false nails to be applied to your bitten nails. Even if these are not lovely, damaged, broken, your nail technician has seen others! Its role is to enhance your hands and nails, even bitten ones.
Wearing UV gel false nails is strongly discouraged before the age of 16, in order to allow natural nails to slowly reach full maturity and thus have healthy nails.
There are no medical contraindications. That said, a pregnant woman experiences strong hormonal variations, which can cause separation. But it's not an exact science, some hold the gel very well during this period.
The application of false nails is not recommended:
- Before the age of 16 (Risk of nail malformation)
- For people under steroid-type medication (detachments, lack of gel adhesion)
- To people who have very oily nails, or on antibiotics (Detachment)
- People with diabetes (An injury, even slight, can turn into a serious infection)
- For people with hand conditions such as mycosis, psoriasis or contact allergies.
Nails don't literally breathe. They are composed of keratin, a hard protein that grows from the root of the nail. They do not have blood vessels or the ability to absorb oxygen, as living tissues do.
A manicure is a hand treatment: we file, we standardize the length of the nails, we push back the cuticles ( Russian Manicure article in the blog ) and we apply a varnish to finalize the treatment.
When applying false nails , the nail is lengthened or strengthened with UV gel.
It is very important not to do it yourself as you risk damaging your natural nails. This requires a certain amount of mastery and only a professional can do it without risk: It's a removal .
